SLAM-based Instant Mapping
"Instant Mapping" is our SLAM-based 3-D tracking technique, which allows you to map any rich-textured object right away. This functionality is also included in the metaio SDK and you can use it in your own application. SLAM-based 3-D tracking is the best choice when you would like to augment a 3-D model, which has no specific shape or scale relation to the real object in your camera view. For example you can create a 3D map of your desktop and augment your game or animation on it and create an exciting AR experience.
Instant Precise Mapping
"Precise Mapping" is the perfect choice for those scenarios in which the 3D model to be aligned, has close shape and scale correspondence with the actual object, e.g. if you would like to augment a 3D model of a helicopter on your pre-built miniature city so that the scaling is realistic.
