Augmented Reality specialist DANTE TECHNOLOGIES created a multichannel AR campaign for Honda to introduce the new Honda Air Blade in Vietnam. The challenge was to create both a kiosk as well as an online AR campaign with interactive features that have never been used before in other AR campaigns, while maintaining high quality graphics for a realistic feel of the motorcycle.
metaio Web SDK Shockwave was chosen as the platform to crette the application with taking care to create a realistic feeling of the motorcycle while keeping 3D object sizes small for easy downloading. The stable and robust tracking enabled an easy interaction to control the motorcycle animation. With two markers being simultaneously tracked, it is possible to control several of the motorcycle's features, such as lights, color and the movement of the bike itself. The kiosk version incorporates a module with transparent video textures and was shown at several trade fairs.
Presented at the official Air Blade dealer launch, the AR kiosk was considered a big success and thanks to its reception, the kiosk will be set up at several major motorcycle retailers. The web application was well received by its users, thanks to the variety of AR interactions possible. This prolonged the amount of time that the user spent interacting with the Air Blade.
