Welt der Wunder SmartView

Challenge

"Welt der Wunder" is recognized as one of the most innovative edutainment magazines in Germany. For the reader, what would be more interesting than having articles augmented by videos and animations and using the just acquired knowledge in a quiz? In cooperation with "Welt der Wunder", metaio created an Augmented Reality application which includes all of these features.

Solution

Based on the junaio Plugin metaio developed and implemented a multi-level Augmented Reality quiz for iPhone/iPad, that makes the magazine truly interactive. Furthermore the reader can watch several article-related videos and 3D models using his device. Additionally every Intel ad banner is connected with an AR interaction. Providing this, the application is not just an added value for the readers, but also an innovative advertising channel for "Welt der Wunder".

Conclusion

"We know that our readers have a high smartphone affinity. Thererfore, as the first edutainment in Germany, we decided to apply Augmented Reality editorial," says Uwe Bokelmann, Chief Editor at "Welt der Wunder". "Welt der Wunder" is released monthly with new AR content and the application will soon be launched on Android too.
